FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — October 26, 2023 — The White-Wilson Community Foundation (WWCF) hosted the return of its award-winning fundraising event, The Little Black Dress Party, on Saturday, September 16. Over 450 guests filled the Grand Sandestin to help raise more than $223,000 to provide critical health services for individuals in Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton Counties.

Guests enjoyed dinner, dancing and live and silent auctions. Those in attendance were also given a chance to try their luck and win premium wine and an ultimate bar raffle. Honorary Charis Dr. Patrick and Mrs. Sandra Anastasio welcomed guests and encouraged all to take an active role in improving access to health care.

“We so appreciate the opportunity to come together with many influential leaders and raise funds for those in need,” said Mrs. Anastasio. “As members of the local health care community ourselves, we understand the importance of supporting health and wellness programs focused on increasing access to care, and we are truly grateful to those who made the night a success. It will have an impact on our community for long to come.”

All event proceeds benefit The White-Wilson Community Foundation’s community health initiatives. Through the success of previous years, the WWCF has helped increase access to mental health medications, breast cancer screenings and treatments, high-tech vision equipment, primary wellness exams, sports physicals and emergency care for victims of sexual assault. The WWCF plans to expand its reach and further impact the lives of those along the Emerald Coast.

“We understand that many in our community lack essential and critical care,” said Teresa Halverson, Chair of the Board of Directors. “The proceeds from this event will enable us to forge partnerships that enhance access to life-changing health services for individuals who might otherwise go without.”
